Fortunately, there are a lot of smart people around the world.
Numerous articles have been written in Medieval times newspapers regarding violence in videogames and how they make our society more miserable. Even though titles like "Korean dude dies after 56 hours in cybercafe" generate a lot of buzz amongst uninformed moms and conservative leaders, positive evidence on videogames still prevails.
Recent news support this: a court declared unconstitutional a law that limited the commercialization of videogames since it violates freedom of creative expression. On the other hand, new consoles and operating systems have parental control applications that help parents mentor their kids on which games to play.
Now, when analyzing the situation in Latin America or other regions where, unfortunately, piracy is the standard, there is an issue: cracks to the games may block the control systems in the consoles. Parents will have to guide their kids in the usage and start realizing that in order to assist them in their play and learning will have to invest in original games and consoles with no chips.
